Back in August 2020, my aunt had these 2 kittens she would feed in her backyard. She also had a large pitbull…Long story short she accidentally let the pitbull out as the kittens were playing and it killed one of them. My dad ended up taking the surviving kitten in (without asking us) because he felt really guilty and was scared the incident would happen again. Same day my dad went to PetSmart and bought everything he thought a cat needed. We gave him a bath in our kitchen sink as I looked up how to even take care of a cat. Mickey was very traumatized and scrawny in the beginning but taking him in was just the start of something new.

Name: My aunt called him Minnie, so we all thought Mickey was a girl at first (hence why he had a flower collar). Soon we found out he was a boy once we took him to the vet, so we just switched to Mickey based off of Mickey and Minnie mouse.

Throughout the Years…

Mickey Now

Mickey may be the oldest of the cats and always have a stank face, but he is the biggest baby. It used to take a long time for him to get used to change, an example being when we moved to our house, he found a hole in the walls and stayed behind it for 2 days, only coming out once he was hungry. He has come a long way though. Now, it doesn’t take him as long as it did before to get used to change or new people.

Even though he had a roughest upbringing, Mickey still ended up being the sweetest cat of the bunch. He is a little overweight, but he just loves his food.

Random Fun Facts:

Mickey likes to drink water by dipping his paw in the water bowl, then licking the water off of his paw…

All the other cats love Mickey, he is just tolerated by all. Maybe it’s because he’s the only boy?

Even though Mickey is the sweetest, he has a kill count of 5 mice…

Even though it was my dad who brought him in, Mickey doesn’t really like him that much, he often stays away.
